Tell Northwestern: Stop punishing Jewish students for practicing their faith.
In 2024, Jewish students at Northwestern University marked the holiday of Sukkot by erecting a “Gaza Solidarity Sukkah,” to demand an end to the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.
Just a few hours later, the administration sent in police who threatened the students before violently tearing their sukkah down. The students were later joined by Rabbi Brant Rosen and other community members in erecting a second Gaza Solidarity Sukkah. Like clockwork, militarized university police desecrated their sukkah, this time on Shabbat.
JVP drove over 2,000 emails to Northwestern administrators to demand that they stop trampling on the rights of Jewish, Palestinian, and all students who oppose Israel’s genocide.
