JVP Legacy Circle
Becoming a Movement Ancestor
In Judaism, we say l'dor v'dor - from generation to generation. Legacy giving ensures that the movement for Palestinian liberation and a Judaism rooted in justice continues long into the future. When you include Jewish Voice for Peace in your estate plans, you join a lineage of ancestors who understood that our liberation is bound together. Your legacy gift is an act of trust in our collective vision and our ability to continue organizing and building power for the long haul.
You don't need to wait, or have wealth, to plan your legacy.
It's never too early. People of all ages create estate plans. Starting early gives you peace of mind and ensures your values guide decisions at every stage of life.
There are no small gifts. Legacy planning isn't just for people with large estates or those nearing retirement. Whether you leave $100 or $100,000, every gift sustains our movement and honors your commitment to justice.
Legacy giving isn't only about money. You can leave a legacy through your time, through relationships, or through an ethical will that passes down your values and hopes for future generations.
Share your legacy story with us.
If you've included JVP in your estate plans — or are considering it — we would be honored to hear from you. Letting us know allows us to thank you, understand your intentions, welcome you into the JVP Legacy Circle, and keep you connected to the impact of your gift.
Wills and Bequests
Ways to include JVP in your estate plans
Through Your Will or Trust: Name JVP as a beneficiary, designating a specific amount, percentage of your estate, or remaining assets. If you are part of the ⅓ of Americans without a will, it is often possible to make one on your own, for free, online. Please consult with a financial and tax advisor to learn more about what’s right for you and your loved ones.
Beneficiary Designation: Name JVP as a beneficiary of retirement accounts, life insurance, bank accounts, or donor-advised funds. This is often simpler than updating a will and can be changed anytime.
Other Planned Gifts: Options include charitable remainder trusts and gifts of real estate or appreciated assets.
Our Legacy Giving Brochure provides sample bequest language and detailed information.
Jewish Voice for Peace does not provide legal or tax advice. Please consult with an attorney or financial advisor to learn more about what’s right for you and your loved ones.
Ethical Wills: Pass down your values.
An ethical will is a Jewish tradition of passing down your values, beliefs, and blessings to future generations. Unlike a legal will, an ethical will (tzava'ah) shares the lessons you've learned, what has been meaningful to you, your hopes for your loved ones, and why movements like ours matter to you.
Ethical wills are deeply personal with no required format - they can be a letter, voice memo, or written reflection.
