For In These Times, Shane Burley speaks to Molly Crabapple about her seminal new book, “Here Where We Live Is Our Country: The Story of the Jewish Bund,” which documents the extensive history of the Labor Bund Movement, an anti-Zionist, socialist organization across Eastern Europe in the early 20th century dedicated to collective liberation and rejecting the exclusionary politics of Zionism. She draws a connection between the politics of the Bund and the present-day movement of Jews standing in solidarity with Palestinians.

“Dissent persists, especially among the Jews involved in organizations like IfNotNow and Jewish Voice for Peace that have flooded into the streets and set up encampments at college campuses demanding an end to U.S. support for the Israeli government and its war machine.
