In Politico, Irie Sentner, Ben Johansen, and Sophia Cai report on how Israel’s genocide of Palestinians has provided the pretext for some of the Trump administration’s most openly fascist and undemocratic policies. Intentionally misrepresenting anti-Zionism as antisemitism, the Trump admin has then used these false allegations of antisemitism as a bludgeon to cut millions in federal funding to universities, target students for deportation, and crack down violently on constitutionally protected protest and free speech.

Politico spoke to JVP’s Executive Director Stefanie Fox about ongoing ceasefire talks:

“Whether or not this ceasefire plan is implemented, the U.S. will continue to send billions of dollars in military funds and lethal weapons to a regime that is actively and ongoingly oppressing Palestinians. Our work will be to continue to harness and grow the mass movement of people who have organized non-stop to end this genocide into the ongoing struggle to upend the financial, cultural, and political alliance that ties the U.S. and Israel’s atrocities.”
