We stand with the Lebanese people against Israeli invasion and occupation

Through war, land theft, annexation, ethnic cleansing and genocide, Israel is re-drawing the map of the region, funded and armed by the U.S.

As the world’s attention focuses on the U.S.-Israel war on Iran, the Israeli military is invading and occupying southern Lebanon and bombing Beirut, while continuing its ongoing genocide of Palestinians. As we watch, and with U.S. encouragement and funding, the Israeli government is re-drawing the map of the region, creating a Greater Israel through war, land theft, annexation, ethnic cleansing and genocide. 

Since March 2, 2026, the Israeli military has laid waste to Lebanese cities and villages, killing over 1,000 people and forcing the evacuation of over 1 million from over 15% of the country, targeting hospitals, shelters, water and electricity grids, and dropping white phosphorus and herbicide on Lebanese farmland. 

Israeli government officials are explicit in their threats of mass devastation, destruction and land theft in Lebanon, just as they were with their genocidal threats to Palestinians in Gaza. On March 5, following Israeli evacuation orders of Beirut’s southern suburbs, Israeli Finance Minister Smotrich threatened the area would “become like Khan Younis,” referencing the Palestinian city in Gaza leveled by the Israeli military. Knesset Member Sukkot subsequently demanded that Israel “conquer territory in southern Lebanon [and] annex the territory to the State of Israel.” And most recently, Israeli Defense Minister Katz said the ground invasion of Lebanon would be “modeled on the one conducted in Gaza,” while also predicting that Lebanese families would not be able to return to their homes.

The ongoing Israeli genocide of Gaza has shown that threats by the Israeli government are statements of intent. The horrors Israel committed with impunity are now being exported to Lebanon, using the same tactics and strategies. And the U.S. government is still continuing to fund and arm the Israeli government in its plan to steal and annex still more land.

We know where this leads. When the Israeli government is permitted to act with impunity, able to carry out countless war crimes with no accountability—and instead rewarded by the U.S. government—it leads to mass death and destruction. 

Just as we stand with Palestinians against Israeli genocide, and with Iranians against U.S and Israeli warfare, we stand with the Lebanese people against Israeli invasion and occupation. ​​While the onslaught of violence from the U.S. and Israeli governments feels never ending, we remain clear-eyed in our commitment to oppose this violence, and will continue to speak out for the safety, freedom, and dignity of all people.
