UN General Assembly Resolution 194, December 1948
Full text: UNGA Resolution 194
Passed as the Arab-Israeli War drew to a close, this resolution’s articles included a call for the return of Palestinian refugees, access to Jerusalem and Holy Places, and UN control of Jerusalem.
The principle of return has been reaffirmed by many subsequent resolutions, such as UN General Assembly Resolution 2535 December 10, 1969 and UN General Assembly Resolution 3236 November 22, 1974.
