Challenging Pinkwashing (2010-present)

JVP members and chapters have resisted pinkwashing — a term Palestinian activists have coined for the way the Israeli government presents itself as “gay friendly” to divert attention from its crimes against Palestinians — for years.

In 2012 JVP-Seattle and other local queer and trans Palestine solidarity activists successfully cancelled pinkwashing events planned in the city.
