Jewish Voice for Peace offers the following quote for publication regarding the announcement of David Friedman as President-elect Donald Trump’s choice for U.S. Ambassador to Israel:

Jewish Voice for Peace executive director Rebecca Vilkomerson :

“David Friedman’s appointment as U.S. ambassador to Israel indicates that the Trump Administration has aligned itself with the farthest right elements of the Israeli government. Friedman, who heads an organization dedicated to funding settlements, has said he looks forward to leading the effort to move the embassy to Jerusalem, which would put  U.S. policy at odds with the international community and take a step closer to full Israeli annexation of occupied territories. Mr. Friedman’s appointment is a distressing signal that the new administration will give the Israeli government a free hand to deepen its fundamentally undemocratic and abusive control over Palestinian land, resources and rights.”

End the Deadly Exchange

When US law enforcement trade tactics with the Israeli police and military, Israel deepens its military occupation and the US heightens its violence of policing. Tell the Truth

Days ago, bowed to pro-Israel activists and started describing all of Jerusalem as a “city in Israel” – literally erasing Palestinian East Jerusalem. Let’s get to tell the truth: East Jerusalem is occupied territory.

Senators: Investigate Israeli Violence!

No one should be killed for taking part in a peaceful protest. It’s up to us to call on progressive Senators to investigate Israel’s massacre in Gaza that killed over 100 Palestinians wounded 12,000 others.
