Read JVP's statement following the United Methodist Church 2008 General Conference: Methodists affirm divestment as option to end Israel's occupation

This year, the United Methodist Church held its General Conference, a meeting that takes place once every four years to make policy decisions for the 11.5 million-member denomination.

The conference took place between April 23 and May 2 in Fort Worth, Texas. To learn more about General Conference, click here.

The General Conference considered a number of resolutions dealing with divestment from Sudan and the Israeli occupation. Here are some of them:
