TIAA-CREF: Divest from the occupation

Ask one of the largest financial services in the United States to divest from the Israeli occupation.

Campus divestment

Students around the country are calling for investor activism to address human rights violations against Palestinians.

End the siege of Gaza

Tell Obama to hold Israel accountable. Regret is not enough.

Presbyterian Church USA

Don't profit from injustice. The Presbyterian Church USA has been considering divesting from the Israeli occupation since 2004. Every other year, they hold a General Assembly. There they address issues related to Israel/Palestine, and they discuss their desire not to profit from human rights violations and injustice. For six years, they have asked Caterpillar to ensure that the bulldozers it sells are not used to demolish Palestinian homes or uproot Palestinian olive trees. Unfortunately, Caterpillar has not changed its practices.

Important new book on Jews and Palestinians: Broken Promises, Broken Dreams

"Broken Promises, Broken Dreams: Stories of Jewish and
Palestinian Trauma and Resilience", is available now.

Boston JVP member Alice Rothchild, who co-organized the JVP Health and Human Rights Project, has written an important new book that Nobel prize winner Dr. Bernard Lown has said "is a soul searching, painfully honest examination of ordinary people bonded in a tragic embrace....that deserves the widest readership."

Dr Rothchild says:

This book is an intimate journey grappling with the complicated historical legacy of Israel and Palestine and my relationship to these issues as a Jewish American physician, grounded by the traumas of the Holocaust and my family's passionate love of Israel.

The book also looks at Ashkenazic and Sephardic Jewish Israeli attitudes, the lives of a number of Palestinians living in the West Bank and Gaza and the "personal and political consequences of crossing lines [which] raises troubling questions regarding US policy and the mainstream Jewish community's insistence on standing, unquestioning, behind Israeli policy."

Read more about Alice Rothchild and her book here, order it directly here, and go here to request Dr. Rothchild as a speaker at your event.
